*Paris, 11 April 2012* – The OECD business community welcomes the new Recommendation of the Council on Regulatory Policy and Governance as adopted by OECD Council on 22 March 2012, and calls for credible government action to effectively implement the principles in the Recommendation.

In a letter to the editor in European Voice on 9 February 2012, NNR pointed out key measures that are necessary for European leaders to take in order to complete the single market.

The differing way that EU directives are transposed and implemented is a problem for the EU.

With mornings enveloped in autumn mist and everyone back from summer holidays, it is full steam ahead again for better regulation. This is true in Sweden as well as internationally.

This year’s International Regulatory Reform Conference was hosted jointly by the Board of Swedish Industry and Commerce for Better Regulation (NNR), the Swedish Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications and the Bertelsmann Stiftung. More than 400 delegates from over 40 countries gathered in Stockholm to discuss strategies for ensuring that regulation supports, rather than hinders, entrepreneurial activity and economic growth. This is a summary of the conference’s plenary sessions and workshops.
